Control your whole world using your phone
Hardware and software developer Thinkflood today took the wrapping off its cool new device, the RedEye mini, for the iPhone/iPod Touch.
This tiny IR 'dongle' plugs into your iPhone's 3.5mm earphone jack, leaving the docking port free, and when combined with the free RedEye app allows you to use your iPhone and iPod Touch as an all-on-one universal remote control. Using this combination of hardware and software it's possible to control your TV, AV Receiver, Blu-Ray player, DVD player etc etc.
And with plenty of customisation options it's possible to use whichever combination of multitouch/accelerometer gestures you'd like to control your home devices.
At $49 it also happens to be quite the bargain.

That's pretty cool. Bit expensive, considering what it actually is, though!
